Hi Nichal,
I have selected your Dark Wood theme (which I loved as it was) for my husband’s blog. He however decided he wanted a lighter background and dark print. Because I really like your layout and already have it set up pretty much how I want it with ads and widgets, I attempted to change the background image and font colors instead of changing themes. I replaced ‘background.jpg’ with a light wood image but the new background does not continue for the whole blog or posts. Can you tell me what I need to do to remedy this?

Hi Nischal,
Congratulation for the design of your DarkWood Theme ! It’s elegant and sober. I’m into it !
I would like to use it for the part Blog of my website. To do so, I would like to modify the color of the brown insert (content) and make it blue.
I located the pictures which are related to the brown insert ( contentbottom1.png , etc… )
But I couldn’t find any element in the CSS with the color #27160A (the bottom of content).
What is giving the gradation of brown ? Code ?
Is it possible to get the same effect with the color blue ?
How can I do ? Can you help me please ?
Is it a way to send you a donation, a kind of little contribution to support your action ? (by paypal?)
By advance thank you
Best regards
Jeanmarie

Oups… !
I can see now, how it ‘s the game between the degree of transparancy of content pictures and the background !
Sorry for my dumb question
CSS and web design is new for me…
Have a nice day !

The wood picture and the brown color background are merged into one whole picture. So if you want to change the background color, then you will also have to change the background image.

Hey, thanks for your themes, they rock!
One question, though – how can I enable comments on pages too in the Dark Wood theme?
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I’m using the Dark Wood theme and just wanted to use one sidebar. I’ve got the left side bar removed, but I’m not seeing where I would change the sizes to give a bit more room in the center area and move the right side bar over to the right further.
Thanks,
Rick

Check out the “style.css” file. In that file modify this part of the file
You can increase the width to “780px” to make the center area bigger and push the sidebar to the extreme right.

I like this theme, but something (likely in the stylesheet) is causing it to ignore paragraph breaks. When I try to add a space between paragraphs, the break is deleted, even when I hardcode it in the HTML input screen. Do you know how to fix this?

Dear Nischal/Nick,
happily found your (brilliant!) Dark Wood-theme, which I intend to use for my pseudo-publishers-site. But am a bit unsure about this: it’s not compatible with Firefox??? And it only runs on WP 2.7? Which is an older version, so can I still download that (with absolutley NO programming/nerd skills whatsoever)?
Ta,
Jutta

@Jutta: It is compatible with firefox and it runs on WP 2.7 and “higher than that”. So it will work with latest version as well

Nick,
I like your theme, however, is there a way to make it 2-columns instead of 3?
Thank you in advance for your time & expertise.
Warmest regards,

I’m using this theme for a band’s site, and one of them asked me if I could inverse the content background and the text so the content background (not the wood) is light and the text is dark. is there a way to do this? thanks!

Unfortunately , you cannot, unless I provide you with a new background image and you can replace the original with the new one

I noticed that italics and bold are overridden in the content areas for blog posts. What if I want something to be in bold or italics in my post, how can I modify this theme to allow that?

Hey! I just found and downloaded your dark wood theme and love it!! however, i am using the drop caps from Jessica Hische’s blog/project, http://dailydropcap.com/ and cannot figure out how to make them transparent so there isn’t a sheer looking box around the drop caps in my posts. any suggestions? thanks!!

Is there a way to change the pink links to a different color? Also is there a way to change the flower pots or to remove them? They are cute but I’m a guy and I almost got my dude card revoked for drinking Go Girl earlier this year.
Thank you for making such cool and quality templates!

I use the current Dark Wood theme and I love it! However, is there a way to get the blogroll on the main site in one of the sidebars? I tried looking in the widgets, but I don’t see it available. I’d love my readers to see what blogs I’m following. Is this a developer-end thing?

Hello! I have a question regarding DarkWood. I am migrating a friend of mine from the wordpress.com account she has to a full domain. She used your theme on her blog (nostalgiajunkie.wordpress.com) but when I moved it over to the new server (http://www.nostalgiajunkie.net), I load the theme and I get this error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: str_ireplace() in /homepages/40/d187178668/htdocs/vh/nostalgiajunkie/wp-content/themes/dark-wood/functions.php on line 152.
Ideas?

Nischal,
I am completely new to WordPress and completely new to CSS. I have chosen your Dark Wood theme for my blog (love it!), but I’m using a Typekit font that’s incredibly small. How can I increase font size for my posts, others’ comments, etc.? Also, I’d like to use another font style for title, headings, etc. Please help a newbie like me!
Thanks,
Jumi =)

Hi there!
I love the dark wood theme but I have the custom CSS upgrade to make it a little more my own. My big issue is the content/sidebar/title bar color.
It looks like I have somewhat managed to remedy the content and sidebar (at least tenatively- please make reccomendations if you them) but I can’t find way to edit the title bar in my style sheet and my changes to the background and sidebar have removed the background for the title entirely. As well as remove the little flower icon by the titles of my posts.
Can you reccomend how to edit this in the style sheet?

How can I change style.css to optimize this theme to 1024×768 pixel?
I want to reduce at least one of the three colums of the theme.
In that resolution a part of the second side bar comes out of the screen on the right.
Thanks
